Hanging cacti, also known as trailing or cascading cacti, are a fascinating and visually appealing addition to indoor and outdoor spaces. These cacti have a unique growth habit that allows them to trail or hang down from containers or hanging baskets.

• Light: Most hanging cacti prefer bright, indirect light. Avoid exposing them to intense, direct sunlight for extended periods, as this can scorch their delicate foliage.

• Watering: Water these cacti when the top inch or so of the soil feels dry to the touch. Overwatering can be a problem, so ensure that the containers have proper drainage to prevent root rot.

• Soil: Use a well-draining cactus or succulent potting mix. You can also mix in some perlite or sand to improve drainage.

• Humidity: While most cacti prefer low humidity, some hanging cacti, like Rhipsalis and Epiphyllums, can tolerate slightly higher humidity levels. Mist the plants occasionally or provide a humidity tray to create a slightly more humid microenvironment.

• Container: Choose a hanging basket or container with drainage holes to prevent water from accumulating at the bottom.
