Their leaves consist of pale green colour overlapped with a dark green feathered effect from the middle of the leaf to the outer edges. As these leaves mature, they are rolled up and show off pinkish-red undersides, splashing another set of colours. Peacock plants (Calathea makoyana) could also be considered as a best choice to be kept in mass or group in moist woodland or bog gardens or in wet areas along streams or ponds. Also, an excellent accent or specimen. And could be effective in the border as long as the soil moisture requirements are met.
