ABOUT THE PLANT
The Philodendron 'Fuzzy Petiole' is a tissue culture plant that we were under the impression was the Philodendron Nangaritense. Native to the rainforests of Ecuador, this aroid has beautiful, slightly velvet, bright green leaves, but it's mainly grown for its odd petioles (the stalk that connects leaf to stem). The petiole is covered in a fine fuzz that becomes more pronounced and vibrantly red on mature specimens.
Light :
Bright indirect light for approximately 6-8 hours daily. It is best to give indirect sunlight to variegated plants to encourage variegation but avoid too much exposure to sun as it can burn the variegated part of the leaves.
Soil :
A chunky, rich, and well-draining soil is ideal with PH of roughly 5.0-7.0, which is neutral to acidic, is ideal for Philodendrons.
Humidity & Temperature :
Avoid below 50%, ideal is 60%-70%. Aroids can adapt to normal household temperature, except for anthuriums which needs higher humidity and warmer temperature.
Fertilizer :
Balanced feed, well diluted, once a month during growing season.
Toxicity :
Toxic when ingested.
