Echinopsis is a genus of cacti species, natively originated from South American regions. They are widely admired due to their spectacular flowers. Echinopsis is having about 128 species, and all vary in shapes, sizes, and even in growing habits. Most of these cacti grow in a form of clusters of globular heads, in some species whereas these globular heads might grow in solitary while in some species it might be in the form of several offspring. The common in these species is their beautiful multicolored flowers that usually bloom during Spring and Summer periods. Colors of these flowers must vary from Red, Yellow, Pink, White to Orange. And these flowers open only at night and close in the morning. During the night it attracts moths to get pollinated, and the lifetime of these flowers is usually short-lived. These species would be excellent to be grown as a pot plant.
