• Celosia Cristata aka Cockscomb is one of the most eye-catching perennials that could grow easily in your outdoor garden. It blossoms with lance-shaped flowerheads with colours varying from red, cream, rose, pink, deep magenta, orange and yellow. These flowers vary in colours, shapes and sizes too. Size may come in the range of 60 -183cm. And in general, they bear tightly in a clustered form, giving the resemblance of a rooster’s comb, for which they earned their common name as “Cockscombs”. Celosia Cristata are excellent as container plants, and will be perfect for your outdoor gardening arrangements. • In the case of these plants, full sunlight for at least 6 hours daily is compulsory, then for rest periods they could be placed in indirect light. Before watering check topsoil (2-5 cm) dryness first. Water abundantly in summer, then reduces gradually when the Winter or rainy season comes. Soil on which they are supposed to be planted must be kept moist, not wet. It had to be well-drained, rich with organic contents. These soil temperatures must be above 27 degree Celsius. And Climate should be Warm. And in terms of feeding, use organic fertilizers especially during summer.

• Celosia Cristata has come in use in many traditional medicines, like in treatment of sores, headache, eye inflammations, ulcers, painful menstruation, skin eruption and carpal tunnel syndrome.
